A racegoer left onlookers speechless after revealing that her mother is a renowned Doctor Who star and comedian.

The woman participated in the trending “Who’s your most famous contact? ” challenge, which has been making waves on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

She unveiled a truly impressive name from her phonebook – her own mother, reports the Mirror.

In a video shared online by a sports organisation, the woman is asked to reveal her famous contact, to which she nonchalantly responds that it’s her mother. The viral clip, which has amassed over 13.6 million views on TikTok, sees the interviewer ask: “Who is your most famous contact? “.

“My mum,” the woman retorts. The interviewer is taken aback by the revelation, exclaiming: “Am I bovvered? ! ” This phrase is one of Catherine Tate’s well-known catchphrases from her character Lauren, who she portrayed between 2004 and 2007.

Both the interviewer and those surrounding them are left in disbelief.

“I’m not bovvered but you are,” the woman later quips. The video then transitions to the woman FaceTiming her mother – none other than Catherine Tate.

She introduces her mum to the camera: “It’s called Invades, say hi,” as Catherine greets the viewers. Her daughter, Erin Clark, 22, subsequently adds: “She’s in LA right now, living the life.”

Catherine Tate had to cut her call short while on the freeway, explaining: “I can’t really hear because I’m on the freeway,” prompting Erin to quip: “She’s on the freeway in LA, she’s got better things to do than be at the races. Alright thanks for showing up Mum! Love you.”

The post quickly raked in a flurry of responses surpassing 1,000 comments.

Fans were left stunned and envious, with comments such as “No way, I would never shut up if Catherine Tate was my mum,” and others calling out the ‘biggest flex’. Onlookers remarked on the family resemblance, “She looks just like her mum,” while another expressed sheer amazement: “I’m not bothered. Instantly reminded me of Catherine Tate!!! OMG so amazing that is in fact her mum.”

Catherine’s daughter is shared with stage manager Twig Clark, though she has since found happiness with an American screenwriter, with reports suggesting they became an item in 2018. A confidant told The Mail On Sunday: “Catherine and Jeff have known each other for years.”

They added: “Jeff is a screenwriter, so he and Catherine have been working on several writing projects together. He’s a funny, good-looking guy but it’s been hard for his ex-wife to deal with the fact that he is dating someone so famous.”

Notwithstanding her comedic fame, Tate remains committed to keeping her personal life private, away from the limelight.

A source has spoken out about Catherine’s recognition in the States compared to her fame in Britain, in light of her decision to relocate to Los Angeles. They remarked: “Catherine is known in the US but she’s not the household name there that she is in Britain,” and elaborated on her low-profile relationship with Jeff, saying: “That’s why she and Jeff have been able to keep their relationship under the radar. It’s not like they have been hiding. They’ve been quite open about their relationship and have been talking openly about getting married. They are very much in love and blissfully happy. They can’t wait to start this next chapter of their lives together.”
